Silk velvet vs cotton velvet: which one to choose?
Same price per metre, two fabrics with almost nothing in common. What silk velvet is really made of, what gives cotton velvet its body, and how to sew each one.
Panne velvet is a velvet with a long pile laid flat in one direction, giving it a smooth, highly lustrous surface with shifting reflections. It is soft to the touch, supple and fluid.
This panne velvet features a bold black and ivory print, mixing zebra stripes with large spots. Thanks to its elastane, it offers good stretch and great comfort.
Its high-contrast print makes it a statement fabric for dresses, tops, bodysuits or leggings, as well as evening, stage or dance wear.
