Jacquard, named after its inventor, Mr. Jacquard, who also invented the semi-automatic loom. Jacquard is not a fabric but a weaving technique in which patterns are woven into the fabric. A “cut-yarn” jacquard is so named because, during weaving, certain weft threads are cut between the patterns instead of running continuously across the entire width of the fabric.

This turquoise floral silk jacquard on a black background is ideal for making jackets, blazers, dresses, skirts, or formal wear. Its intricate floral pattern and delicate sheen also make it a particularly suitable choice for formal wear, evening wear, or couture-inspired garments.

Jacquard made in Italy.
